I got it to make ground pork. It did a great job on it, quickly and without even working hard. This machine can go faster than I can and it is happy doing it, no struggle at all. You are always tempted to think you need to spend more, buy a commercial unit, buy the biggest unit. I’m glad I didn’t spend $30 or $300 on this. By the time I did 2 pork loins and a Boston Butt, I was tired of cutting meat into strips. But you can just cut the meat into strips and not cube it which saved me a lot of effort. I recommend you get a good chef’s knife and knife sharpener or whetstone instead of a $300 model. In the end, a very sharp knife is very important. You will spend the bulk of your time cutting the meat into strips, the grinding goes quick after the meat sliced and chilled.This is a nice, well made unit. It may not last forever, nothing ever does, but I think its a good solid product for its price point. I expect to be able to feel like I got my money’s worth before it retires itself. Those brushes made the unit easy to clean and you will be cleaning it often between grinds. Cleaning often is important. Being able to get the meat ready to grind is important. Be prepared and have the right stuff and its a lot easier and more fun.
