Centoco Wooden Toilet Seat Round, Closed Front with Cover, Residential, Made in the USA, 700-001, White
I can’t believe I’m so thrilled to write a review about a toilet seat hahaha.Plain and simple, this thing is the best of ALL worlds. It feels good and sturdy with some weigh to it like a wooden seat.It has all the durability, cleanliness, and long lasting appearance benefit of a plastic seat.I had a good feeling and working wooden seat BUT the enamel/paint was wearing off on top and on the bottom, was either showing signs of staining (yuck) or simply just losing color to have wood show through. So I go to buy a replacement but who know toilet seats were this freaking complicated. Plastic ones are thin, flimsy, and poor feeling. Wooden ones did not have the lifespan to due to PAINT wearing off and they stain. This guy is wood that is encased in plastic. Problems solved! Now lets talk about the slow close feature. Many reviews had me a little worried about the slow close feature on this seat.Let me tell you, there is nothing you practically need to worry about.I admit, this seats slow close feature is more like SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW close but it works.Importantly though, you can just give the seat a good “flick” to close and knock out like half the distance with 1 flick of the wrist and it will continue to do its slooooow thing hahhaa.I’m happy to report that there is no tough resistance to closing or anything like that. It just moves freakin slow. You can lower the seat to completely closed with no abnormal effort.Unless you need the seat to lower fast (why by a slow close in this case) you will not find a logical reason to worry about the speed of how slow the seat closes hahaha. Now on to the lid. It feels good and sturdy like a wooden one. I read a review where someone thought it was a flimsy plastic lid. This is not the case with the 2 I ordered at all.I just wanted to point this out so people concerned about the lid or sitting on it would have some accurate info about it.Installation was easy. Get a flathead screw driver and a pair of pliers or channel locks and done.I will say there is nothing fancy about the bolt or fastening mechanism. That seems to be a “feature” other toilet seat brands promote. In the end you really just need a nice secure and strong fasten that won’t easily come lose. So far it hasn’t come loose so this checks all the boxes. Some people talk about the 4 little rubber “plugs” that come with this. They go in the round holes on the underside of the hinge base. The base that sits flat on the toilet itself when you screw this in.No instructions come with this thing but knowing that should solve any questions as to “what are these and where do they go”. After that it’s self explanatory. Bolt to toilet, done hahahaha. In all I find this toilet seat to basically be everything anyone would ever need. And again, don’t fret one bit about the slooooooooooooooooooooowness of the slow close feature. It’s a non-issue… unless you like inventing issues where ones do not really exist hahaha
