It is relatively adequate as there are very few alternatives. I see decent seats available as part of a complete toilet but those are not offered as seat replacements. As far as the directions are concerned people seem to be thrown when every possible approach is not used. If you simply look at the illustration it is easy to comprehend how the parts go together. I suppose I can wonder why they used a slotted flathead screw type when the design prevents the screw from being turned but that is probably just a matter of what was readily available when assembling the parts. Not even worth a 1/4 star penalty that they did not spell things out at 3rd grader reading level. I will update this review after I have had time to use the seat now that it is installed. Let’s see how well it stays in place and whether it creaks or anything. Initially I wondered whether it was going to mount properly centered. It straightened out as I tightened the crews even though I had to shift it with cautious pressure to get it aligned before tightening the screws. So far just 4 stars because it is not made as well as what I could buy 10 years ago. Also. it is plastic like the one I used for 10 years why all the warnings about using certain cleaners? It’s a toilet seat which warrants disinfectant sanitizing not mere soapy water, I used typical bathroom cleaners on the one being replaced without any damage to the plastic. Is this plastic so inferior it cannot handle a standard bathroom cleaner?
