I grabbed two of these around xmas when they went on sale for $13. For that price, they’re great. They look best if you put them on an aluminum channel with a plastic diffuser cover to make them less garish if they’ll be located where the actual strip would be seen, but if they will be placed somewhere recessed for indirect lighting (under/over cabinets, etc) you can just stick them on. The sensor is located pretty close to where the lights begin, so hopefully your location allows for that position to work, especially since the angle the sensor is able to “see” is not very wide. And hopefully you like the 16 colors on offer on the remote – that’s all you get – and many of them (particularly the orange-yellow range) are really awful. The light is dimmable, but not by much… so don’t expect a wide range of light output options. I setup one strip in my kitchen and primarily use it set to red light for when I wander in at night to grab a drink of water. After a couple of weeks of use I’ve noticed a double flicker when the motion sensor activates the lights – I’m hoping that goes away and the strip doesn’t fail… The second I just recently added underneath a cabinet in my long hallway so that when you open the door or walk down that end it lights up. It’s kind of a silly use case but for less than $13 it was fun to play with.
