We needed a fire ring for the family recreational property up in Oklahoma. We have a primitive campsite set up near a pond, but the surrounding area is wheat/hay/switchgrass. So, keeping our fires contained is crucial in this drier environment. Our initial plan was to either buy stone or a corrugated 4 foot feed trough to use as a fire pit. However, we don’t own a truck, so getting a large trough out to the property was going to be difficult for us in our SUV or car. This sectioned corrugated fire ring solves that transportation issue for us, and the cost is much much lower than a trough or stone/pavers.This fire ring comes packaged in a slim box that is 12x16x3 inches that is easy to pack. It will be a little time consuming to fully assemble but it can easily be done by one person. A small Phillips screw driver is included and the nuts are wingnuts which can be twisted easily by hand. This kit also comes with a pair of fabric gloves to protect you from the edges of the sheet metal.I am not certain that this is actually ~22 gauge metal, but it will work for our use and I am quite pleased with it. Only time will tell how long it will hold up out in the weather, but at this price, it is worth the gamble in my opinion. As for the looks/aesthetics?
