Ordered these to split the pair on two different bikes, appreciating the throwback history of both. The tassels are what I was really after, and whip was admittedly more a curiosity.First ride: The tassels are already sewn (loosely) and actually fit great on my brake / clutch levers; it was easy to snug them up for a good fit. They look nice. But at slow speed and sharp corners with parking they tap against my tank – don’t love that. Worse, and I could have guessed, at speed, the little skulls start flipping around and smack my mirrors. Didn’t break anything but I had to quickly shut that down. First thought was to cut them off. But that’s actually not necessary – they slide up the tassel and can be kept clear of the mirrors after all. Seems like this is working – even at highway speeds, the skulls stayed up and gave me no problem (though the tassels start to get annoying after an hour at 75 so I kinda grabbed them at the handlebars).The whip definitely won’t work on my hard bagger – it’s at length to hit the bags and tour pak. A paint chip would really chafe, so use discretion. Instead, I have a town bike with leather bags and I can ride with it on that. (Yes, that one in the photo has just been setup for Halloween decoration.) The whip makes a small statement and fits the bike’s personality.Realistically, I don’t see myself riding the same bike with both tassels and whips; but now I am satisfied – pleased even – with how I have the set split up between these two bikes.
